ANAND, 27 July 2023: Valamjibhai Humbal, Vice Chairman of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (AMUL), has been appointed as a board member of the newly formed National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL).

The appointment was made during the first Annual General Board meeting of NCOL, which was held at NDDB Campus in Anand today.

Shri Humbal is a founder chairman of Kutch District Milk Producers Union Limited and has been a strong advocate for the promotion of organic farming. He is also a member of the National Steering Committee on Organic Farming.

NCOL is a national-level multi-state cooperative society that was set up to provide thrust to organic products from the cooperative sector. The society will act as an umbrella organization for managing various activities related to the organic sector, such as providing certified and authentic organic products, unlocking demand and consumption potential of organic products in domestic and global markets, and helping cooperatives and their farmer members get benefits of high price of organic products through aggregation, branding, and marketing on a large scale.

The appointment of Shri Humbal as a board member of NCOL is a significant development for the organic farming sector in India. His experience and expertise will be invaluable in helping the society achieve its goals of promoting organic farming and providing farmers with a fair price for their produce.
