Flipkart collaborates with the Agriculture Ministry to train Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs) in digital marketing and e-commerce at FPO Samagam 2025, promoting rural entrepreneurship and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

NEW DELHI, 11 November 2025: Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, partnered with the Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare to host the two-day FPO Samagam 2025 in New Delhi. The initiative brought together Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs) and smallholder farmers from across India to strengthen digital capabilities, enhance market linkages, and drive sustainable rural growth through e-commerce.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, inaugurated the event and underscored the importance of FPOs in empowering rural communities. He highlighted their role in transforming farmers from producers to entrepreneurs and in fostering self-reliant, women-led rural economies under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The event featured sessions on value addition, quality enhancement, and digital marketing, equipping FPOs with the tools to access wider markets. Flipkart conducted a hands-on training session for farmer groups to learn how to leverage its online marketplace for improved visibility and sales. A buyer–seller interaction was also held, connecting FPOs directly with potential institutional buyers to explore long-term trade partnerships.

Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart Group, said, “India’s agriculture sector is at a pivotal stage. The government’s initiatives to empower FPOs are commendable, and Flipkart is proud to contribute by providing technology-led market access and transparent sourcing. Our focus is on building an inclusive farm-to-consumer ecosystem that enhances farmer incomes and strengthens rural prosperity.”

The collaboration aims to bolster digital inclusion in agriculture, create employment opportunities in rural areas, and expand market access for farmer collectives. With continued support from the Ministry, Flipkart plans to reach last-mile agricultural communities, enabling FPOs to scale sustainably and contribute to India’s rural economic growth.
