Haryana to develop 340 villages as horticulture villages

Haryana state government has decided to develop 340 villages as Horticulture Villages at a cost of $13.94 million (Rs 93 crore) during the Golden Jubilee year of the State. It has also decided to establish 140 clusters in these villages.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also signed with the Apio Inc. for processing and packaging of horticultural products in New Delhi recently, OP Dhankar, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister said.

The Minister said, these organisations would manage the activities of the clusters with the assistance of the Horticulture Department.

Under this project, producers in Haryana will supply fruits, flowers, vegetables and dairy products to these areas.
