THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, 1 June 2024: In a monsoon season relief to dairy farmers in four southern districts, Milma’s Thiruvananthapuram Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) has decided to disburse an additional milk price of INR 2 per litre.

The additional milk price will be calculated based on the milk procurement during April 2024 and will be disbursed along with milk price in June, its Chairman Smt Mani Viswanath said today.

As per the decision, the procurement price of milk will go up to Rs 46.84/litre.

Smt Viswanath informed that during 2023-24, around Rs 12 crore was given as additional incentive for milk price and TRCMPU will have to spend around Rs 1.5 crore while disbursing milk price incentive during monsoon.

The Chairman added that TRCMPU has taken necessary measures for disbursing financial aid as part of monsoon relief operations.

Milk societies and dairy farmers in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts will benefit from the incentive.
