AGARTALA, 10 May 2026: An industry-focused knowledge review on sustainable layer farming practices concluded successfully in Agartala, bringing together poultry professionals, veterinarians, consultants, nutritionists, and industry stakeholders to discuss the future of poultry production in the North-East.

The event, titled “Integrated Approaches for Sustainable Layer Farming in Tripura,” was supported by IPEMA–Poultry India and focused on improving productivity, disease prevention, biosecurity, and climate resilience in layer farming systems.

Speaking as Guest of Honour, Uday Singh Bayas highlighted the growing role of Poultry India as a national platform for innovation, technology adoption, and business collaboration in the poultry sector.

He stressed the importance of regional outreach and industry partnerships in strengthening India’s poultry ecosystem, particularly in emerging markets such as Tripura and the North-East.

Focus on disease management and precision farming

Experts at the seminar discussed key challenges impacting the poultry sector, including evolving disease patterns, climate variability, feed quality issues, and antimicrobial resistance.

Participants emphasised the need for integrated farming approaches combining advanced nutrition, diagnostics, farm management practices, and sustainable technologies to improve long-term resilience and profitability.

Technical sessions covered topics such as poultry health, mucosal immunity, environmental management, vaccination strategies, water health, nanotechnology applications, and data-driven disease surveillance systems.

Industry specialists also highlighted the growing importance of digital monitoring tools and precision farming technologies in improving operational efficiency and reducing production risks.

Push for stronger poultry infrastructure

The discussions underscored the need for stronger surveillance systems, improved poultry infrastructure, and greater public-private collaboration to support sustainable sectoral growth.

Stakeholders noted that region-specific interventions and enhanced farmer awareness would be critical for boosting poultry productivity in states like Tripura.

The organisers said the event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and policy discussions aimed at accelerating innovation and inclusive growth in India’s poultry industry.
