NEW DELHI, 21 June 2025: The 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana is expected to be disbursed in June 2025, continuing the Central Government’s flagship initiative of providing financial support to eligible landholding farmers across India.
Launched in February 2019, PM-KISAN has emerged as a lifeline for over 11 crore farmers, offering INR 6,000 annually, paid in three equal installments of INR 2,000. This amount is credited directly into farmers’ bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), helping them meet both agricultural and household needs.
However, this time around, there’s a strict caveat—no e-KYC, no payment.
e-KYC Now Mandatory for Payout
The Ministry of Agriculture has mandated that all registered farmers must complete their e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) verification in order to be eligible for the next installment. Without it, farmers risk being dropped from the beneficiary list.
To streamline the process, the government has made e-KYC accessible in three ways:
1. Online through the PM-KISAN portal
Visit pmkisan.gov.in, click on ‘e-KYC’ under the ‘Farmers Corner’, enter your Aadhaar number, and complete the OTP verification. If your mobile number is Aadhaar-linked, the process takes just minutes.
2. Through the PM-KISAN Mobile App
The app supports face authentication and Aadhaar verification, making it easy to complete e-KYC on the go.
3. At the Nearest Common Service Centre (CSC)
Farmers without Aadhaar-linked mobile numbers can visit the nearest CSC for biometric KYC, particularly useful in areas with low digital access.
Check Your Name in the Beneficiary List
In addition to e-KYC, farmers should verify that their names are listed in the updated PM-KISAN beneficiary list. This can be done by:
Visiting the official portal
Clicking on ‘Beneficiary List’
Selecting State, District, Block, and Village
Viewing the updated report
Farmers can also scan the QR code available on government-issued PM-KISAN posters or contact the helpline at 1800-180-1551 between 6 AM and 10 PM for assistance.
When to Expect the 20th Installment?
While the government hasn’t confirmed the exact date, past trends suggest a likely disbursement in June 2025. The 19th installment was released in February this year, and the scheme generally operates on a four-month cycle.
Who’s Eligible to Receive the INR 2,000?
Only those farmers who have:
Completed e-KYC
Ensured Aadhaar is linked to their bank account
Verified land records as per state revenue data
Confirmed their name in the latest beneficiary list
