CHANDIGARH, 9 May 2020: In order to meet farmers’ need of electricity for running water pumps, Haryana state government is providing a subsidy of INR 15,000 on setting up a 150-watt solar panel under Manohar Jyoti Yojana Scheme.
After this, farmers will only have to spend INR 7500 from their own pocket, while the balance INR 15,000 will be contributed by the state’s department of new & renewable energy.
The government feels that this will also help farmer to solve their water problems in farms and promote irrigation across every field, the government has focused on solar pump yojana and distribution of solar panel to the farmers.
Speaking on this, Haryana Renewal Energy Department Agency (HAREDA) K. Scientific Engineer P.K. Nautiyal said that some people were unable to take advantage of this due to the high cost involved in installing solar energy panels. In view of this problem, the Haryana government is giving a sizeable subsidy to install solar power panels.
Nautiyal added that farmers can get subsidy on solar panel under the Manohar Jyoti Yojana.
Manohar Jyoti Yojana
Under this yojana, the government decided to provide 150-watt solar panel under Manohar Jyoti Yojana Scheme. A lithium battery is provided with a solar panel. Also, two 6–6 watt LET bulbs, 9 watt LET tube lights, a 25 watt ceiling fan and a mobile charging point are given.
Documents required to apply for the subsidy
Farmer needs an Aadhaar card and that has to be linked with a bank account and Haryana state residence certificate.
