Corteva’s Delegate Insecticide boosts sustainable pest control for farmers

November 11, 2025

Corteva Agriscience enhances Delegate Insecticide for sustainable pest management in corn, cotton, and chilli, empowering Indian farmers.

INDORE, 11 November 2025: Corteva Agriscience has announced new advancements to its flagship product Delegate® Insecticide, strengthening its role as a dependable and sustainable pest control solution within Integrated Pest Management (IPM) systems for corn, cotton, and chilli growers in India.

Delegate, long trusted by farmers for its fast-acting control of destructive pests such as Fall Armyworm (FAW) in corn and Thrips in cotton and chilli, now embodies Corteva’s broader vision of precision, sustainability, and ecological safety in modern agriculture.

The upgraded Delegate formulation not only delivers effective pest control but also helps maintain ecological balance, ensuring safety for beneficial insects like bees and natural predators. This aligns with modern IPM principles, enabling farmers to reduce pesticide load, enhance productivity, and ensure crop health.

Key benefits include strong residual action that provides long-lasting protection, minimizing the need for repeated sprays and saving farmers time, labor, and input costs.

Application timing remains crucial for maximum efficacy:

Corn: First spray 15–25 days after sowing to prevent FAW damage, followed by a second spray at 30–35 days to boost cob quality and yield.

Cotton: Application at flowering to control thrips, and another at boll formation for improved boll growth and protection against lepidopteran pests.

Chilli: Sprays during flowering and fruit set to safeguard against thrips, ensuring better fruit quality and marketable yields.

By integrating Delegate into IPM programs, farmers move from reactive pest control to proactive crop management, gaining consistent yields, better profitability, and sustainable resilience.

Corteva Agriscience reaffirmed that the continued innovation behind Delegate underscores its commitment to scientific, farmer-centric, and sustainable agriculture, ensuring Indian farmers remain equipped for the challenges of evolving pest pressures and climatic variability.
