INDORE, 09 February 2019 : Based on this extensive survey, we find that there is no need to revise the initial crop numbers given by SOPA and the kharif-2018 soybean crop is reconfirmed at 11.48 million tonnes, according to The Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA), a national level body representing the soybean processors, farmers, exporters and brokers in India working towards the aim to strengthen soybeans as a viable crop.

SOPA in a statement said, "We have undertaken a very extensive survey of soybean crop for kharif-2018, arrivals, crushing, exports and local demand, to prepare a balance sheet of soybean and soybean meal as on 1st February, 2019."

"The survey was undertaken by two teams of SOPA officials. The undersigned personally visited major Mandies in Maharashtra which included Nagpur, Chandur Railway, Dhamangaon, Amravati, Akola, Khamgaon, Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, Yeotmal and Hinganghat.
