India's soybean exports records 735% growth during Dec 2016

India has recorded a whopping increase in soybean meal and its other value added products (HS Code 2304) to 241,256 tonnes or 735.6 per cent during December 2016, as compare to 28,870 tonnes exported during the same month last year.

The increase was recorded as France imported 87,150 tonnes, followed by Bangaldesh that imported 80,300 tonnes, the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) said in a statement.

The Indore based soybean association adding further said that imports from Japan was recorded at 39,459, while Myanmar imported 21,686 tonnes of soybean. 

On a financial year basis, the export during April 2016 to December 2016 is 446,130 tonnes, against 302,304 tonnes in the same period of previous year showing an increase of 47.58 per cent.

During current Oil year, (October – September), total exports during October 2016 to December, 2016 is 370,398 tonnes, as against 100,776 tonnes last year, showing an increase by 267.55 per cent.
