According to the latest figures released by the Indian agriculture ministry, India's total area sown under Rabi crops as on November 4, 2016 touched 8.15 million hectares, as compared to 8.89 million hectare recorded in 2015.
Wheat has been sown/transplanted in 428,000 hectares, rice in 951,000 hectares, pulses in 2.41 million hectares, coarse cereals in 1.38 million hectares and area sown under oilseeds is 2.97 million hectares, the ministry adds.
