The award highlights Swaraj Division’s contributions to strengthening government schools in Jodhpur district for FY 2024-25, with a focus on installing rooftop rainwater harvesting systems and providing essential teaching-learning materials. The initiative addresses long-standing challenges in rural Rajasthan, such as water scarcity and fluoride contamination.

In collaboration with Sarv Mangal Gramin Vikas Sansthan, Swaraj has undertaken a wide-ranging effort across 78 villages, 20 blocks, and eight districts to improve clean drinking water access for communities and livestock, while supporting irrigation for local agriculture.

Since its inception, the program has renovated 18 traditional water bodies, producing nearly 3.72 million cubic meters of water for drinking and farm use. Additionally, rooftop rainwater harvesting tanks have been installed in 57 government schools, providing an estimated 5.7 million liters of safe drinking water for students.

These measures have directly benefitted more than 48,000 people, supported 37,000 head of livestock, and helped irrigate over 3,000 hectares of farmland.
