The plant will have an installed capacity of 120 Kilo Litres Per Day (KLPD) of anhydrous ethanol and is aligned with the Government of India’s Ethanol Blending Programme (EBP), which aims to reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels and lower carbon emissions through higher ethanol blending in petrol.

The project was formally initiated under Invest UP’s Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC) 4.0, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone on February 19, 2024, in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Speaking on the occasion, Pragya Singh, Founder and Managing Director of Ethorka, said, “This plant is going to benefit the entire region by generating employment, strengthening rural incomes, and contributing to India’s green energy goals. We are committed to ensuring that this facility becomes a benchmark in sustainable ethanol production.”

The facility is expected to create jobs, boost the local agri-economy by sourcing grain from farmers, and operate with environmentally responsible processes.

The project is currently undergoing documentation and regulatory clearances. Ethorka representatives recently met with CM Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow to brief him on project progress and explore state-level policy and infrastructure support.

As part of India's growing ethanol capacity, this plant contributes to the country's 20% ethanol blending target by 2026, while supporting Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat goals.
