HYDERABAD, 20 February 2024: Thummala Nageswara Rao, the Agriculture Minister of Telangana, inaugurated Marut's AG365 Drone at Agritech South 2024, a premier agricultural technology event hosted by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Hyderabad, and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
This marks a significant step in harnessing innovative technologies to empower women, youth, and farmers in the state.
PJTSAU acquired two cutting-edge drones from Marut Drones, India’s leading agricultural drone technology manufacturer. These drones are aimed at enhancing agricultural practices and research initiatives within the university. Moreover, they will be utilized for training rural youth, self-help groups (SHGs), and agricultural graduates, with the PJTSAU Drone Academy conducting training sessions using these drones.
Minister of Agriculture Shri Thummala Nageswara Rao highlighted the transformative role of drones in agriculture, expressing, "The Government of Telangana fully supports companies and universities exploring drone technology in agriculture. Extensive training and adoption will assist farmers in better management and aid the Telangana government in formulating a drone-based agriculture policy."
Prem Kumar Vislawath, CEO of Marut Drones, expressed gratitude to the Minister of Agriculture for encouraging drone adoption, emphasizing that Marut’s technology aims to revolutionize farming practices. The AG365 drone, designed and developed for Indian conditions, promises multiple purposes and a higher return on investment for farmers. With a flying endurance of 22 minutes, the drones are safe to operate and will generate economic and employment opportunities in districts across Telangana.
Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Hyderabad, underscored the significance of the collaboration, stating, "Marut Drones has been a trusted long-term partner. Marut’s multi-utility AG365 drone is instrumental in providing comprehensive training to farmers, women drone pilots, young farmers, and agriculture graduates keen on adopting drone technology in agriculture.”
Marut Drones participated in the 4th edition of Agri-Tech South 2024, organized by the Government of Telangana and CII from February 16th to 18th, 2024, at PJTSAU's campus. This event serves as a pivotal platform to introduce and showcase the latest agricultural inputs, products, services, and technologies aimed at shaping the future of agriculture.
A three-day annual event, Agritech South aims to facilitate discussions among key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, academic experts, and farmers, to identify priorities and propose strategies for the growth and advancement of the agricultural sector in India.
