MUMBAI, 27 October 2025: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has expanded the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) platform with the inclusion of nine additional commodities, raising the total number of tradable agricultural products on the platform to 247. The expansion aims to meet growing demand from farmers, traders, and other stakeholders for broader market integration and improved trading opportunities.

The Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI), responsible for defining tradable parameters, developed standards for the nine new commodities in consultation with state agencies, traders, subject matter experts, and the Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC), with approval from Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The new commodities include Green Tea, Tea, Ashwagandha Dry Roots, Mustard Oil, Lavender Oil, Mentha Oil, Virgin Olive Oil, Lavender Dried Flower, and Broken Rice. Standardised tradable parameters link prices to quality, enabling farmers to receive fair value, reduce dependence on intermediaries, and enhance their bargaining power.

Prior to this addition, DMI had framed parameters for 238 commodities traded on e-NAM. The expanded coverage strengthens the platform’s reach and impact, allowing farmers to access transparent, quality-driven digital markets across India.

With tradable parameters now accessible on the e-NAM portal (enam.gov.in), the initiative promotes a fair, competitive marketplace. Farmers can benefit from wider market access, assured quality standards, and remunerative prices, enhancing their economic resilience.

The move reflects the Government of India’s commitment to empower farmers with digital tools, promote quality-linked agricultural trade, and support inclusive growth in the sector.
