ICAR's IISWC signs MoU with University of Petroleum and Energy Studies

The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun, Uttarakhand signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, Uttarakhand for the Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) based solution for agricultural field protection from wild animals.

DEHRADUN, 15 June 2021: The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun, Uttarakhand signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, Uttarakhand for the Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) based solution for agricultural field protection from wild animals.

Director Dr. M Madhu of ICAR-IISWC and Dr. Veena Datta, Registrar of UPES, Dehradun signed the MoU on the behalf of their respective organizations.

As per the MoU, both the organizations have agreed to take up a collaborative project for designing, developing, implementing, and analyzing the cost-effective IoT solution for crop protection from wild animals and long-distance control room-based system for animal detection, surveillance, and repellant.

The two growing technologies - AI and IoT can effectively provide a practical solution to protect crops from wild animals in both the hills and plain areas.
