Over 80,000 people will get employment from 10500 units, says MP Horticulture & Food Processing Minister

Development of farmer is necessary to make self-reliant India and self-reliant Madhya Pradesh, state horticulture and food processing minister Bharat Singh Kushwah said at a conference organized by Madhya Pradesh State Agro Industries Development Corporation and PHD Chamber of commerce and industry recently in Bhopal.

BHOPAL, 16 July 2021: Development of farmer is necessary to make self-reliant India and self-reliant Madhya Pradesh, state horticulture and food processing minister Bharat Singh Kushwah said at a conference organized by Madhya Pradesh State Agro Industries Development Corporation and PHD Chamber of commerce and industry recently in Bhopal.

Addressing the representatives of the banks, the minister said that the banks should take an active part in this virtuous work because this would double the income of our farmer brothers as well as the state. And the economy of the country will also get stronger. The minister further said that the processing industry will be set up where the farmer is producing the crop and one district will produce one product If this concept is worked on, it will improve the rural economy and generate employment on the local star. He said that after Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh has received maximum number of applications regarding food processing units.

The special guest of the program, Ms Kalpana Shrivastava, IAS, Principal Secretary, Horticulture and Food Processing, Madhya Pradesh highlighted the possibilities of horticulture and food processing in the state.

In the program, Commissioner Horticulture and Food Processing Madhya Pradesh Manoj Kumar Agrawal and Shrikant Bhanot, IAS Managing Director MP Agro explained in detail about the Prime Minister's Formulation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises and answered the questions raised by bank representatives and industrialists regarding the scheme.

Pradeep Karambelkar Chairman PHD Chamber Madhya Pradesh, informed about the work being done by PHD Chamber for horticulture and food processing industry. The program was conducted by Anirudh Dubey Sr Resident Officer PHD Chamber Madhya Pradesh.
