IBADAN / Nigeria, 15 May 2026: IPEMA–Poultry India strengthened its international outreach and trade engagement through its participation at NIPOLI Expo 2026 held in Ibadan, Nigeria.
Led by Uday Singh Bayas, the Indian delegation engaged with global poultry stakeholders, policymakers, veterinarians, agribusiness leaders and investors to showcase India’s growing capabilities in poultry equipment manufacturing and livestock innovation.
NIPOLI Expo is regarded as one of West Africa’s leading livestock and agribusiness trade platforms, bringing together feed manufacturers, researchers, poultry producers and technology providers from across the region.
According to industry estimates shared during the event, Nigeria’s poultry sector is valued at nearly $4.2 billion and contributes significantly to the country’s agricultural economy. The country reportedly maintains over 180 million birds, annual chicken meat production exceeding 1.5 million metric tonnes and egg production of around 15.8 billion annually.
The broader Middle East and Africa poultry market, valued at $26.7 billion in 2024, is projected to reach $35.57 billion by 2033, highlighting expanding opportunities for poultry technology, equipment exports and cross-border partnerships.
IPEMA said its participation was aimed at strengthening trade cooperation and exploring long-term partnerships with Nigeria and other African markets.
During the expo, the delegation interacted with several dignitaries including Yinka Lawal, Moruuf Akinwande and Segun Makanjuola.
Bayas said Africa represents a major opportunity for innovation, investment and sustainable growth in the poultry and livestock sector.
He added that the delegation also discussed smoother visa facilitation and hospitality coordination to improve participation for African delegates attending future editions of the Poultry India Expo 2026 in India.
IPEMA–Poultry India also invited global poultry stakeholders to participate in the 18th edition of Poultry India Expo 2026, scheduled to be held at HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, from November 25 to 28, 2026, with Poultry Knowledge Day on November 24.
The association said the initiative aligns with its broader vision of positioning India as a trusted global partner in poultry technology, livestock innovation and sustainable poultry production systems.
