MUMBAI, 10 May 2026: Mahindra & Mahindra reported a strong performance for its Farm Equipment Business (FEB) in April 2026, registering a 20% year-on-year increase in domestic tractor sales amid continued demand for farm mechanisation.
The company sold 46,404 tractors in the domestic market during April 2026, compared with 38,516 units in the corresponding month last year.
Total tractor sales, including exports, stood at 48,411 units during the month, up 21% from 40,054 units recorded in April 2025.
Exports also posted robust growth, rising 30% year-on-year to 2,007 units during the month.
Commenting on the performance, Veejay Nakra said the company delivered strong sales growth despite the absence of the Chaitra Navratri period in April this year, which had supported sales in April 2025.
“We have sold 46,404 tractors in the domestic market during April 2026 registering a growth of 20% over last year,” Nakra said.
He added that export markets also remained positive, with overseas tractor sales growing by 30% during the month.
Industry observers said continued focus on agricultural mechanisation, stable rural cash flows, and expectations of a favourable monsoon are supporting demand for tractors and farm equipment across key agricultural regions.
The strong performance also reflects sustained momentum in India’s farm machinery sector as farmers increasingly adopt mechanised solutions to improve productivity and manage labour shortages.
