KOLKATA, 26 August 2025: The 9th edition of the IPR Annual Conclave concluded in Kolkata with strong backing from the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (IPEMA) and Poultry India. The conclave, themed “From Farm to Fork: Unlocking Value with Efficient, Safe, and Sustainable Poultry Processing”, brought together policymakers, scientists, veterinarians, academicians, and business leaders from across the poultry value chain.
Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA and Poultry India, attended as Guest of Honour and stressed the sector’s pivotal role in advancing food security, sustainability, and employment. He reaffirmed IPEMA’s commitment to fostering innovation and building a globally competitive poultry ecosystem.
Key sessions featured Dr. Tarun Shridhar, Director General, Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture & former Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, who delivered the Thematic Address, and Sameer Agarwal, Managing Director, Shalimar Group, who shared industry insights.
Other Guests of Honour included Madan Mohan Maity, General Secretary, West Bengal Poultry Federation; Somu Kumar Ambat, Founder of Sapience Group; Dr. Dibyendu Dey, Executive Director, Immureka Animal Health; and Vikash Deo, Director – Production, Bhandari Feeds.
The Keynote Address by Abhay Parnerkar, CEO, Godrej Foods, outlined opportunities and challenges in poultry processing, while thought leadership sessions and a panel discussion moderated by industry experts further enriched the conclave.
A special moment of the event was the felicitation of G. N. Ghosh, Founder & Managing Editor, Indian Poultry Review, honoured for his pioneering role in agricultural journalism and chronicling the growth of India’s poultry industry.
The conclave concluded with a Valedictory Address by Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Shukla, President of the Indian Poultry Science Association and Head of Poultry Science, DUVASU, Mathura.
Looking ahead, IPEMA and Poultry India announced the 17th edition of Poultry India Expo 2025, to be held in Hyderabad from November 26–28, under the theme “One Nation, One Expo”. Promoted as South Asia’s biggest poultry exhibition, the event will bring the global poultry community together for networking, innovation, and business growth.
